Even the best browser, occasionally, can slow down or crash. And you, who are used to have many tabs open at once, often you do not reboot the program to avoid having to re-open one by one the sites you’re visiting.

What if I told you there was a way to remind the browser open tabs recalling them automatically when the program starts? In this way, you can close Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer at any time without losing the “thread” of your navigation. Let’s see in this article all the details!

Let’s start this guide on how to restart the browser in a “smart” way from Internet Explorer. If you want to make sure that the browser from Microsoft remembers all the tabs you were visiting before you close it, you just have to use one of the functions (quite hidden) integrated into the program.

It is enough to launch the application and press the Alt key on the PC keyboard to display the menu of Internet Explorer. Then select the Tools item from the menu that has just appeared and click on the Reopen last browsing session to reopen all the tabs that were active before closing the browser. Unfortunately it is not possible to automate the process but this is better than nothing.

If you use Google Chrome and you want to restart your browser automatically recalling the open tabs of the last browsing session, all you have to do is click on the 3 line Menu button located in the top right of the screen and select the Settings item from the menu that appears.

In the tab that opens, put a check mark next to the item Continued from where I left (under the heading startup) and close the program. Try, therefore, to re-open it, and if everything went the right way, you’ll find the browser as you left it, example, with the tabs of the sites you were visiting before closing it.

At last there is Firefox. If you use the Mozilla browser and want to restart it in a simple way without losing the tabs that you kept open, click on the orange Firefox button located in the upper left corner and select Options from the menu that appears.

In the window that opens, select the General tab, set the option Show my windows and tabs from last time in the dropdown menu when Firefox starts and click OK to save the changes.

Alternatively, you can install the free extension Restart, which adds a convenient option to restart the browser in the main menu of the program (the one that appears when clicking on the orange Firefox button).
