The latest gem from home Samsung has stunned many users, leaving them open-mouthed for the elegance and the amazing features implemented.
I’m talking about the Samsung Galaxy S8, the latest product of the South Korean company. A truly innovative device both in form and in the interface and features: in short, a real breakthrough after the hitches of the Galaxy Note 7, certainly one of the best Android smartphones ever.
Given the countless functions among which there is almost the risk of getting lost, today I will reveal the secrets to make screenshots on Galaxy S8 because the South Korean company has decided to remove the physical Home button and the two soft-touch buttons instead they are present on the previous models.
This could be misleading, but today I want to explain just how to save a screen on S8.
First method to capture screen on S8
This is the simplest method you can use through the following procedure:
- Open the Samsung Galaxy S8 application or screen to which you want to take a screenshot.
- Hold down both the Power button and the Volume- key simultaneously.
Second method for screenshots on Samsung S8
Another method that Samsung has added on the latest smartphones is the Palm swipe to capture feature. It is a completely different method from the first one just seen and, therefore, to be used, it must be activated from the settings menu.
Scroll with the finger from top to bottom and click on the Motion and Gesture option. Click on Palm swipe to capture and activate the function via the switch.
Now that you have activated this feature, you will have to swipe the screen from right to left (or vice versa) and capture your screen. The screenshot just made will be available in the notification drop-down.
Third method to save screens on S8
Finally, I want to talk to you about a third method called Smart Capture.
It is another way of capturing very special screenshots: thanks to this function you will have the possibility to choose also the desired portion that you need to capture the screen.
Just go to Settings, click on Advanced Settings and enable Smart Capture.
At this point, you will have to repeat, at your choice, the procedure explained in the first or second method (using the combination of Power + Volume keys or with a swipe on the screen with your hand) and you will have 3 options:
- capture more things
- cut out a precise part of the image
- share it.
What is the resolution of the screenshot?
The screenshots have a resolution equal to that of the screen (2960 × 1440 pixels) and will be saved in the JPEG format.
Warning: it is possible that the screenshot can also reach 6-7 MB.
