There are people you don’t speak with so often, but still it seems they always know everything about you and your life. Isn’t it? Well, if you think about it, it’s not that weird. If you use social networks often to share your contents , it’s possible that your friends use this tool to stay informed about what’s new about you, visiting from time to time your profile. I guess you would be interested to find out exactly who, among all your friends, visit your Facebook profile.
Unfortunately there’s no way to find out in detail the list of those who visit your Facebook profile. Obviously, if a person is on the list of your friends, then he will surely be able to view all the contents that you publish. What about the content shared on your profile, publicly? These will also be visible to other people on Facebook. Would you like to know the names of these people?
Unfortunately you can’t.
Some time ago there were extensions that allowed you to find out who was visiting your Facebook profile, but, having been considered disrespectful because of the privacy of users, they have been disabled. So there’s no tool able to monitor a Facebook profile. What I’m going to propose you, are alternative solutions that will allow you, with a little cunning, to understand who visits your Facebook profile.
Are you interested about this topic? Take a little time then…and keep reading!
If you want to know who visits your Facebook profile is because maybe in the past you used to monitor your profile and now you are not able to do it anymore. Probably you were using specific applications that allowed you to become aware of the names of the people who visited it, by connecting to your Facebook profile.
Currently these applications don’t work anymore, they are also considered potentially harmful because they can access all your information related to your account. So I suggest you to remove them! To do so just follow the instructions below.
To remove unwanted applications, first log in to the social network, then click on the down arrow button located in the blue bar at the top of Facebook. From the drop-down menu, click on Settings and then on the App item you will see on the side.
Now you are able to view the app settings screen and see the list of all the apps that have access to your profile. Through this section, remove unwanted applications that you previously used to find out who viewed your Facebook profile.
The application in question will probably be found in the Login section with Facebook; you will then have to find the name of this application, click the X button and then confirm the removal operation by pressing the Remove button from the menu you will see on the screen.
Do this for any applications you consider suspicious in the App Settings menu. Take care to also remove applications that you have not used for a long time. Also remove all those other applications that were previously used to track visits to your Facebook profile: as these applications are no longer functional, they must be eliminated.
Always acting from the Settings app screen, I suggest you to pay attention to the boxes in this section: Apps Websites and Plug-ins, Game and app notification, Apps others use, and Old versions of Facebook for mobile.
By tapping Edit button next to these menu items you can activate or deactivate these secondary features. Among them, I suggest you to pay particular attention to Apps, Websites and Plug-ins section. By activating or deactivating this option you can adjust the ability to login or register to apps and services through your Facebook account.
Now we can go into the more technical issue of this guide. I want to talk to you about some “tricks” of Facebook you can use to understand who visits your Facebook profile.
How to see your followers
If you want to know who visits your Facebook profile, the first thing you can discover is who follows your updates. It is possible that those who have activated this feature visit your profile frequently.
To see who visits your Facebook profile and follow your updates, you must first tap on your profile picture that you can see at the top of the Facebook bar. Then click on the Friends menu item that appears below your cover image, then tap on Other item and, from the drop-down menu that will open, press the word People who follow the updates.
Now you can see the list of names related to people who have decided to follow your updates, within the social network. Keep in mind that these names, are not on your Facebook friends list. Instead of sending “friend request”, they have decided to follow the content you publish. Everything you share on Facebook will be displayed in their Newsfeed on Facebook. So these are people who are likely to visit your profile on the social network.
How to see who is online on Facebook
To find out who visits your Facebook profile you can also see who, among your Facebook friends, is online. This clearly doesn’t mean that who is online on Facebook is checking your profile at that time, however, from the moment that person is active within the social network, it will definitely see the content you publish at that moment.
So if you want to see who is online on Facebook you have to activate the chat: just click on the word Chat to activate it. You can also activate the chat by clicking on the button with the gear symbol and then clicking on the Turn on chat button from the menu that you will see appear.
Once the chat has been activated you can view the list of people who are online. The people on this list with a green dot next to their names are the ones that are online on Facebook.
Through the Facebook chat you can also see the names of people previously online and check how long ago they were connected to the social network. If a word indicating a number of minutes or hours is present next to the chat, it means that the person is not currently active on Facebook but has logged in xx minutes or xx hours before.
If you want to avoid letting people know that if you are online on Facebook you can deactivate the chat but, in this way, you will not know who is active on the social network. If you wish to proceed, you can deactivate the Facebook chat by clicking on the gear symbol button from the chat and then press Turn Off Chat
Then choose if you want to disable the chat for all contacts, turn off the chat for some contacts but some or disable the chat for some contacts only by checking the relevant items you will see on the screen. To confirm this operation press OK.
How to see who reads your messages
Another procedure that you can perform to understand, on a logical basis, who displays your Facebook profile is about to find out who views your messages but doesn’t respond in the chat. It’s possible that these people have, at least once, visited your Facebook profile, to interact with you.
To find out who is viewing your messages but doesn’t answer, you need to access the Facebook chat section. To do so, from the main social network screen, click on the button with the symbol of a comic bubble that you can see in the bar at the top of Facebook.
You will then have to click on the conversation of your interest to view it, or you can directly open Facebook Messenger in a new screen by clicking on the button with the symbol of the comic bubble and then pressing on the item See all on Messenger.
Once you have visualized the conversation of your interest within the social network you will be able to understand very easily if the message you sent was read by the recipient. When a person displays a message on Facebook, a small icon will appear with its profile picture, corresponding to the message itself. If you move the mouse to that icon you will know when and at what time that message was displayed.
